Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have led to blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with problems to water systems, as stated by city officials.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Russian forces has increased strikes on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while officials has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and applying penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty projectiles struck the country's power systems, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A series of attacks hit power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from municipal representatives.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.
